We're halfway there!

Hard to believe, but we've made it halfway through this pregnancy thing! 20 weeks was last Friday, with 20 to go. It's flown by but has seemed like forever at the same time. I don't remember what it's like to be skinny and feel good. When I was skinny a few months ago I felt like crud, but now that I've been feeling good I feel fat! It's ok though...I'd much rather have it this way. I craved a turkey sandwich today (a usual fav) for the first time since March. Luckily, most of my cravings have been for fruit and salad. Jon keeps hoping for the late night fast food requests...haha. Based on this belly pic taken a few days ago, I can't believe this bump will continue to grow for another 4 months. Thank God bathing suit season is rapidly coming to a close.

I've also realized that we better start preparing for the little princess. Enter: baby clothes shopping. Oh. My. Gosh. This is going to be dangerous. I bought 5 outfits this week and my husband had to stage an intervention. There's something about the clothes being small, it makes them so friggin' cute. Luckily I'm a bargain shopper, and got 4 outfits at Carter's for under $15! She might not have a name yet, but she already has a wardrobe and enough blankets to last through the winter, courtesy of Granny Kleckley.

In other exciting baby news, I've started to feel her move. It feels like a little person doing kickboxing, with occasional small punches and kicks. Jon hasn't been able to feel them yet, but they say that won't come for another few weeks.

Happy 2nd Birthday Fergie!

Our little princess turned 2 today. We celebrated by taking 2nd birthday pictures, opening her present (a new leash), and taking a nice walk. She knows when to pose for cracks me up. Hopefully Fergie will be this well behaved for pictures when her little sister is here.

My Best Friend's Wedding, part 1

This past weekend, one of my childhood best friends, Kelly, got married! She asked me to be the Matron of Honor, and it's been fun going through the wedding planning journey with her over the past few months. Everything was beautiful and so much fun. It was similar to Jon and I's wedding (same reception venue, DJ, and florist) so in a way I kind of felt like I was getting to be a guest at my own wedding 3.5 years later...haha. Her new husband Rocco is a great guy, and I'm so happy they found each other! One of my other best friends, Stephanie (Smo) was also in the wedding so it was fun to share everything with her as well. We are hoping that her wedding will be the next one on the books! (HINT HINT Chuck!) There are so many good pics, it'll take 2 blog posts. The first ones are from the rehersal dinner at Villa Capri, one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Clear Lake.

PS - I FINALLY got my new camera, a Canon SD 780. I absolutley love the thing and it takes great pics.

It's a GIRL!!

Can you believe it? The long standing Kleckley tradition of male domination is ending (for those of you who don't know, Jon is the oldest of 5 boys)! Today was the Level 2 ultrasound, so they took all the baby's measurements (bone structure, body size) and checked her organs. Thank heavens, we have a normal brain, 4 chambers in the heart, good blood flow, etc. It's amazing that they can tell all this on something that weighs 8 oz and is the size of a mango.

Once the "boring stuff" was done, they called Jon into the room for the "fun stuff". Up to this point, I don't think the whole baby thing had hit him. As soon as he saw all those little parts in working order, he had the biggest grin on his face. When the tech told us it was going to be a girl, we both said "really?!?" and his jaw dropped to the floor (still with the big grin :). We think our little peanut is going to be a gymnast. It was hard to get good pictures because she had her legs above her head and was all curled up. The tech kept having to push my belly to try and get her to move. It worked a little, and we were able to get some fun pics and even some video! If you can't get enough, email me and I'll send you the link to my Snapfish where I have all the pics and video clips.

Both feet together, toes are to the left. Noto's - We can't tell the size of the 2nd toe yet.

She's looking to the side and hiding her face. If she could talk she'd be saying "Leave me alone and let me sleep!"
Drama queen has her hand to her forehead...cute little facial features!

Gymnast photo - her hands are above her head and legs are spread eagle. Looks like she's grinning. "Look what I can do, Mom!"

Drama queen video. Notice the leg kicking up halfway through.

Baby Bump

Please ignore the fact that I'm not wearing lipstick... here's peanut before the Beyonce' concert, approx. 4 months. On Wednesday, we go for the big ultrasound to find out if it's a boy or girl! No, I have not picked out names and will most likely not commit to anything until the day the kid is born. Check back next week for pictures of our baby!

Beyonce Concert

Most people spend their 4th of July grilling hot dogs and watching fireworks. We grilled hot dogs and went to the Beyonce' concert! A few years ago, I told Jon that if Beyonce ever went to tour, I wanted to go. I think she's super talented, classy and a great performer. I was stoaked to find out she was coming to Houston, and my mom and sisters were equally enthusiastic about going. We decided to drag Jon and my dad just for fun. We got a great last minute deal on tickets, but our seats were to the side of the stage. Regardless, the concert exceeded my expectations...I wish we had the entire thing on video!

A little fruity....

I've found much amusement in how "What to Expect While You're Expecting" compares the size of your baby each week to a piece of fruit. My friends and sisters even know what to ask.... "so what's the fruit this week?"

Well, I was exploring (sister site to and found this website...

Wouldn't you know, a whole 9 months worth of fruit and veggies to compare the size of your growing child! Apparently we're in between an avocado and onion this week. I'll be praying for a honeydew instead of a watermelon in December!

3 realizations this week:
1. My jeans no longer fit (boo). We'll be making our first shopping trip for some new pants this week. (yikes!)
2. Now that I'm preggo, not much else in my life seems as interesting to write about (is that sad?)
3. I'm finally starting to understand what my mom meant when she said she enjoyed being pregnant. We're getting to the "fun" part and I'm finally starting to feel half human again.
