Doctor Appt Update

We went to the doctor today and found out I'm 1 cm dilated and making good progress! She still can't give us an estimated time, but said it would be ok for me to make the trip to Bryan for the night and for Thanksgiving Day (it's about a 2 hr drive from Bryan to the hospital). Then, as we're leaving I told her we'd see her next week, to which she responded, "If you make it that long!" :) :) :)

Our new prediction is the baby will be born December 2nd, next Wednesday. Why? There's going to be a full moon! Apparently there's supposed to be a correlation between a full moon and women going into labor. Jon jokingly asked the doctor about it today, and she said she's not quite sure what it is, but there's definitely some truth to stuff!

So close, but so far!

As of today, I'm 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant (but who's counting??). At my doctor's appointment last week, there wasn't much sign of progress. I go to the doctor again tomorrow and will find out if we are any closer to meeting our baby girl. She's packed, I'm packed and we're ready to go. Although I've had a textbook pregnancy, I'm so tired of being fat and uncomfortable. If I get 4 or 5 hrs of sleep a night, I consider it progress. My doctor finally told to be to take Tylenol PM every few nights so I can actually sleep. I've also mastered the pregnancy "waddle". Trust me, there's no avoiding it. Here's a belly pic from 36 weeks, compared to 20 weeks....hey, at least people move out of my way! haha I guess I was naive thinking my "cute" prego belly would stick for 9 months.

In non prego news, we ate at an awesome restaurant with some friends last Friday. We met Jenny, Jason, Jamie and Josh (I was the only one who wasn't a "J") at The Raven Grill. I had sweet potato and spinach enchiladas and they were fabulous. I highly suggest you check it out. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving...we certainly have plenty to be thankful for! We are planning on going to Bryan for the day to spend Thanksgiving with Jon's family, unless the doctor says otherwise.

Baby Shower #4

On November 14th, my Aunt Peggy and Cousin Alaina hosted a baby shower for us in Thibodaux, LA (about an hr outside of New Orleans). We had lots of family and friends there, including both sets of my grandparents. My doctor had said she didn't want me to make the trip, but my appointment went ok the day before so we made the trip anyway. Myself, Jon, my parents, and my sisters left early Saturday morning and came back early Sunday morning. Although it was a quick trip, it was so nice to see everyone!

My (small) Claim to Fame

When I was in Business Student Council my junior year of college, I got selected to be put on the Business School's website because of some cheesy comment I put on a Mays Business School survey. Well, apparently 6 years later this thing is still up there! About once a year it gets brought to my attention, but at least it's a reminder of how skinny I used to be! haha
It lists my class year, 2005. The current freshman are the class of

Happy 4 Year Anniversary!

Yesterday Jon and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. Here's pics from the past 4 years...
Wedding day - November 12, 2005
1st Anniversary - We were living in Chicago for 8 months and spent the weekend downtown. We went to dinner, shopped and saw "Blue Man Group". We tried to eat the top of our wedding cake but it was yucky!
2nd Anniversary - We were still living in Chicago and spend the weekend downtown (can't get enough of it!) We went to dinner, shopped and saw "Tony and Tina's Wedding"
3rd Anniversary - Jon had already moved back to Houston and I was still in Chicago. Our actual anniversary was on a Monday, and I was in town that weekend house hunting. On Sunday night we went to eat at a Mexican restaurant and I had to fly back to Chicago early Monday morning.
4th Anniversary - We went to eat at Ouisie's Table, a really neat restaurant in Houston. There are 3 of us in this picture, at least that's what I'm telling myself since I'm showing every bit of my weight gain! :)

It's truly amazing how time flies. We've had so much fun the past 4 years and I can only imagine what God has in store for us the next 4 years and beyond!

Practice Makes Perfect

As we've been preparing for the baby, there are all sorts of new, fun things for us to play with! A few weeks ago, I busted Jon reading "Goodnight Moon" to Fergie. Last weekend, we picked up the baby stroller and car seat. It looked like so much fun, Jon decided to put Fergie in it and push her around the house. Just like everything else related to baby, Fergie now thinks the stroller is hers. Seriously. She jumped in all by herself and was looking at us like, "Who's going to push me around in this thing? Come on, people!"I've also started a new, dangerous activity: online shopping. I've bought things here and there, but when has free shipping, how can you resist? It's all baby things, of course. I know what time the UPS guy comes by...sad. I'm currently waiting for a valence and mobile for the nursery. Speaking's room is coming along nicely. My giant tree wall decal came in the mail last week and Jon spent Sunday painstakingly hanging it up. It's going to be so adorable and I can't wait to share pictures once we're finished! I'm also very excited about the most adorable diaper bag ever. Pictures do not do it justice, but I can't wait to use it! Added bonus: It just so happens the company is based in New Orleans and the bag comes with a Fleur de Lis keychain. :)

Other than baby showers, here's what else we've been up to:
Probably the most exciting, last week we had an ultrasound and got to see our baby girl!
At 34 weeks, she weighed 4 lbs 7oz, which is the 42% tile. The bigger they get the harder it is to get a good picture, but this one is pretty good. As you can see, she continues to repeat the drama queen pose with her hand by her face.
Hi Mom!
We've also completed classes on childbirth and breastfeeding. Last night was part 1 of the "Life with Baby" class. We were in for quite the suprise when we walked in to see our friends Kim and Huntleigh, whose baby boy is due on January 10th. Jon and Huntleigh had a good time cutting up and talking about who's plastic baby was the creepiest, and discussing where to buy cheap diapers.
Last Friday was my last day of work. It was bittersweet, as I did enjoy my time working at Jon's office. When I started working there last December I certainly didn't plan to be there as long as I was, but I really enjoyed working with everyone. Not going to lie though, it has been wonderful getting things together this week. I've crossed a few things off my to-do list but still have a long way to go!
On Halloween weekend, my Aunt Gina and Aunt Ronda came to visit us from Louisiana. They stayed at our house and we had so much fun spending time with them. Of course, no holiday would be complete without a themed Fergie pic. She was a pumpkin.
Saturday night, we went to the Houston Rockets game to watch my sister Maria cheer. She is part of the Launch Crew. It was the home opener and the Rockets won.
The weather has been absolutely perfect, so on Sunday we took a trip down to Kemah for lunch. Even though it's literally 5 miles from my parents house, I hadn't been there in years! Also, I just had to share this picture of our friends Emily and Derrek's new baby, Samantha. They live in our neighborhood and we can't wait for Samantha and baby Kleckley to be good friends! :)

Baby Shower #3

On October 24th, Jon's parents hosted a shower for us at their home in Bryan, TX. The theme was "The Grandpas are Grilling". Jon's dad will be "Grumpy" and my dad will be "whatever the baby decided to call him" (haha)
Luke's (Jon's brother) girlfriend Jordan made the cake and helped Gerilyn with this diaper cake and diaper bike. Aren't they adorable??
We got so many neat things, including a bunch of things Gerilyn had sewn or monogrammed. My favorites were this maroon and white dress (complete with "Gig 'Em bloomers) and this Aggie quilt. She's so talented!

Baby Shower #2

On October 10th, my best friends Kelly and Stephanie hosted a baby shower for us at Kelly's parents' house in League City. All of my good girlfriends from League City were there, as well as church friends and other special people in my life. Kelly and Smo did a great job of playing hostesses, with yummy food and goofy games. We were also blessed with many wonderful presents and adorable outfits!

Yes, I'm still alive. Friday was my last day of work and today is my first day as a professional housewife until our little princess arrives. My goal this week is to update this blog with all of October's activities. Now that I have more time on my hands I'm vowing to update this more often.

PS- Like the new layout? Check out LeeLou Blogs for fun, free layouts. I have a feeling I'll be changing my quite often!
