WHO DAT!

On Sunday night, we witnessed a monumental event (well, via TV). The New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl!! The Saints are a special team to my family, considering both my parents grew up in south Louisiana, it's where all our relatives live and us older 3 kids were born there. My dad even sold programs at the very first Saints football game, when he was 12! We went to my parents house to watch the game, like we have for most Saints games this season. Madeline was ready to go in a custom outfit that her Granny monogrammed. My dad has mastered the living room set up for game day. This is the Noto's version of "stadium seating".
Our family friends the Gremillions came to cheer on the Saints. The dogs were more concerned with what Brody was dropping on the ground than the actual game.
We also got to meet Madeline's newest friend, Audrey Fontana! Audrey was born exactly one month after Maddie, on January 4. She was 6 weeks early, and only weighs 5 lbs 1 oz at 3 weeks old. Its crazy how much smaller she is than Madeline even though they are a month apart. Anyway, we are VERY excited about the New Orleans Saints being in the Super Bowl. It means so much more to the city than just a football game and we will be praying/cheering for New Orleans and the Saints on Super Bowl Sunday!

Cool Kid

Last week, we FINALLY took Madeline for her first walk. The weather was absolutely perfect...70 and sunny. (no hating allowed, Chicago peeps) She loved being outside and kept looking around at everything. How do you like her shades?

We had a very chill weekend. On Saturday, I worked in the yard while Jon watched Maddie. This is what most of their morning consisted of...What to you think of her new napping position?

What have the Kleckleys been up to lately?

We are very adamant about not letting a baby cramp our style! We want Madeline to grow up being a well adjusted, active child so we are taking her lots of places to meet lots of people. So, here's what we've been up to....

Shopping (for bargains, of course!) and running errands. God bless the inventor of the "Mommy Hook" to hold all of our shopping bags! (Yes, there's a baby in the stroller). I try to get out of the house at least once a day to maintain my "stay at home mom" sanity.Cheering on our beloved New Orleans Saints! We've been going to my parents house to watch the games and have enjoyed a great season. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the Super Bowl. JuJu came to visit! We enjoyed spending the weekend with Aunt Julie, even if we did nothing but lounge around in our PJ's, plan parts of Peter's wedding and eat at Mely's...Extreme Makeover: Home Edition built a house about 5 min from where my parents live...my dad even helped work on it! We decided to be nosy one day to check things out, and it just so happened that Ty was there!Dinner with friends: When Jon was out of town, I took Madeline to dinner at Escalante's with Jenny, Jason, Arielle, Nick, Elaine and Jon. She was SO well behaved and made her mommy proud. :)Jon's brother Paul and his fiance' Dayna got married! They had a small, private ceremony. To celebrate we had a nice dinner with everyone at the Kleckley house in Bryan. We all got dressed up and Jon's mom made everything so nice! Play dates! We spent time with Madeline's friends Samantha and baby Hunt.
Just being cute... Madeline has started to "play" with her toys and loves music.

New Year's Resolutions

Since Jon and I have been engaged, each year we have sat down to make a list of goals: things we want to accomplish in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years and 20 years. He always insists that we list 3 things under each time frame. Each year, I've always enjoyed going back to previous years to see what we've accomplished and how we've done. Many goals remain the same, others have gotten moved up or pushed back. This year, I went to dig up all of our past years lists, and I was horrified that I cannot find them ANYWHERE! I can only think that they must have gotten thrown out when we moved. :( :( :(
We have not done our family goals for this year, but these are my personal, selfish list of things I'd like to accomplish in 2010. I plan on updating the list as I think of more things....
  • Lose the baby weight! None of my clothes fit and I do not need another excuse to go shopping. I've already lost 20 (yay!) but my goal is to get rid of the last 15 (the hardest to drop)by Peter and Niki's wedding on June 5. I plan on doing this by exercising regularly and eating more veggies!
  • Stop feeding Fergie people food. I'm a sucker for the cuteness but the begging is getting annoying.
  • Be on top of things by not procrastinating: ex: letting things pile up on the counter, letting clothes sit on the floor for a few days because I don't feel like folding them, shoving papers in our kitchen junk drawer because I'm too lazy to go upstairs to file them
  • Re-tap my inner craftiness. I love scrapbooking and painting, but it's been forever since I've done these things.
  • Keep up to date with blogging. Posting about events 3 weeks late isn't very effective and makes archiving confusing.
  • Print out photos for albums and our house. We have SO many good pictures that are wasting away on our laptop! I have tons of frames and albums begging for some cute pictures.
  • Spend LOTS of quality time with my wonderful husband and baby girl! Life's to short to waste on reality TV!

Madeline's Baptism

On Sunday, January 3rd we celebrated Madeline's Baptism. It was held in the new church at St. Paul's during a private ceremony, which meant alot to us since Jon and I were married there. Father Albert, the priest and also a good family friend, baptized her. She was such a good girl and slept the entire time. She didn't even flinch when the holy water was poured on her head! She wore a gown that my mom got in Portugal..the hope is that all their future grandkids will wear it. Madeline has 2 very special Godparents...my sister Maria and Jon's brother Ben. Afterwards, we had a party at my parents house and many friends came to visit and celebrate with us!

Happy New Year!

We had a pretty low key NYE. My parents had a small gathering at their house, and the neighbors behind them had a party so we spent the evening going between the two. Madeline had been practicing all week to stay up until midnight, but she got confused. She slept until midnight then stayed awake until 2:30 am! My grandparents we still in town so we got to celebrate with them, too.

Kleckley Family Christmas

We had 2 celebrations with Jon's family...one with his Dad's side of the family in Grapeland, TX the Saturday after Christmas, and then on Sunday we celebrated with his brothers and parents. As usual, good times were had by all...
