This is what happens when Aunt Aimee babysits. Thanks, sis.
Speaking of which, Aimee had her senior prom last weekend. She looked beautiful! We will miss her so much when she goes to LSU next year.
This kid is a chunk and I love it.
The picture below was taken one week later. Time to wash the 6-9 month clothes.
He looks more like his daddy everyday. His hair is starting to have a reddish tint, which scares me. Jon was born with red hair but other than that there are no redheads in our family. People already question Maddie's hair color, considering she's a bleach blond and mine is so dark. I get questions from strangers at least once a week. Yes, nosy strangers, these kids are mine. Trust me, I carried them for 9 months.
Madeline is finally starting to show some affection towards him. And by some, I mean twice in one week. A few days ago she hugged him, and this morning she got mad when her friend Brock touched Andrew's car seat. "NO! That's baby Andrew!" She practically knocked Brock over to "protect" her brother. I just laughed. She's really doing well with him, other than the occasional whack to the head with one of her toys. Other than that, I'm very proud of how she's acting towards her brother.
I love these smiles!
(Yes, Madeline still has homeless hair. It makes me C.R.A.Z.Y. She'll occasionally keep a small clip or bow in, but that lasts one hour max. No hair ties/pony tails/pig tails.)
My parents and I went to eat at a BBQ restaurant in Alvin last week after another trip to the strawberry farm. My mom and I split a BBQ potato and asked for butter on the side. That is butter in the bowl, not ice cream (set next to the standard size ketchup bottle for comparison). It was easily over a cup. Seriously...who needs that much butter on a baked potato?
It's not very often that I become borderline obsessed with a song. After hearing "Somebody That I Used to Know" on Glee a few weeks ago, I cannot get this song out of my head! I've come across a few other versions recently, which makes me wish I had some sort of singing capability. I think the three cover versions are better than the original. These people are SO talented and I think it would be so much fun to be able to sing and perform like this.
So here ya go, for those who like the song or just want to observe some incredibly talented peeps.
Jon's actual birthday was on Easter Sunday, so we had his party the Saturday before. When discussing what kind of party to have, he said he wanted our two families to go to Lucky Strike. For most people this would be a boring event. For the Notos and the Kleckleys, this is 15 people (minus our kids). 15 FUN people. (Would have been 16 but my equally fun mother offered to babysit the munchkins for us).
I busted out the dusty Cricut to make this one. After the fact I realized that not only had I made his banner in Easter colors, but they perfectly matched our Easter decor. 10 points for me.
We started off the evening with dinner and pre-gaming (boys words, not mine) at our house. The boys had a "power half hour", taking a shot of beer every minute for 30 minutes.
Shots that Jordan made: Watermelon and Strawberry
Birthday kisses for Daddy
We needed an updated Kleckley Family Texas A&M pic...
Speaking of which....For his birthday I ordered a display case for his Corps of Cadets Senior boots. I wanted to get him a keepsake for this milestone birthday, so I was super excited about the presentation of the gift. Unfortunately we had a malfunction in the transportation process, so he got to unwrap this picture instead:
Come to find out, the person who made it used the wrong screws and replaced it for no charge. Crisis averted, and now we have a beautiful display case for Jon's boots. Anywhoo...
After presents we headed to Lucky Strike for some bowling! Warning: Picture overload
Size 17....they have up to 18 if you need them.
This was at the end of our lanes.
A certain family member, who can be identified through process of elimination, did not have their individual picture posted due to an obscene hand gesture. And no, it was not my mother, she was babysitting. :)
58 bottles of beer later, I'd say we had a great time!
After bowling, the Bryan crew and others headed home. Jon wanted to go home, but how often do you have a babysitter??? My siblings, Ben and I drug him out to Celtic, a bar in midtown. He was not happy with us, but we had a good time. :)
Happy 30th birthday to a wonderful person, husband and daddy! We love you so much, and may the next 30+ years be as happy and fulfilling as the first 30!
He's wearing a size 2 diaper and 3-6 month clothes. Most 3 month clothes are snug.
He eats every 2-3 hours during the day
I'm thrilled to report that as of 5 days ago, he's sleeping ALL though the night!!! (Dear Lord, please don't let me jinx this). He'll sleep from 9:30 ish to 6:30 ish. I'll usually have to put his paci in once or twice. He's still in our room for now. I'm not ready to admit that my baby boy is ready for upstairs.
He's still sleeping in the miracle blanket but gets his feet out at night. I ordered him a bigger sleep sack to sleep in. When not constrained, he likes to sleep with his arms above his head and his legs bowed out like a frog.
Andrew is such a cuddly baby. Many times during Madeline's afternoon naps I'll cuddle with him and nap. Such a bad habit, but he won't be this size for long. :(
This month he went from his serious looks to smiling and cooing throughout the day. It's so sweet.
He loves to look at the fan. I'll lay him on the bed with the fan on low and he'll smile and kick his legs.
He can sit up in the bumbo.
He puts himself to sleep. I think it's another symptom of second child syndrome. I'll lay him down to do something else or when he's acting sleepy, and when I come back he's asleep.
Like most babies, he is NOT a fan of tummy time.
He still has no schedule. I'm blaming it on his spastic daytime eating habits.
He likes to grab at things: toys hanging from his playmat, my hair etc.
When I put him in front of a mirror he looks really confused, like "what is this other baby doing in my house?"
We had lots of celebrating to do Easter weekend. In addition to the actual holiday, it was also Jon's 30th birthday!
Madeline and I kicked off the weekend by decorating Easter eggs.
On Saturday we went to my parents' house for a Crawfish boil and pool time: my idea of heaven! In addition to boiled crawfish we had my dad's famous grilled oysters, crawfish enchilada casserole and Royer's Round Top Bread Pudding: all while sipping cocktails and margaritas. My family will challenge yours to a cook-off or party-off anytime.
Even our dogs are sun worshipers.
On Sunday we went to Mass at 8 am, so the Easter bunny came to my parents' house afterwards. Madeline got a bathing suit, bubbles, some candy and big girl panties (I can hope, right?)
Andrew got a bathing suit, sunglasses, teething toys and some M&Ms. I might have to eat those.

Maria was very excited about her peas and carrots jelly beans.
Our attempts at an Easter family photo
We went to eat at South Shore Country Club in my parents neighborhood for lunch. The best part about eating at the club is always the unlimited desserts! These were for Aimee and I to share.
Yes, he ate it all and enjoyed all 890894084 calories of it. Happy Birthday to a man who can really appreciate good food!
Maddie loved the Easter Bunny and kept giving him hugs.
Finally, would you believe I had an inflatable lawn ornament sighting?? Apparently they are not just for Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas.
